STIR is a one-dimensional general residence time distribution (RTD) model for solute transport in rivers. The STIR software distributed by WET Engineering S.r.l. includes the numerical implementation of the mathematical model and an optimization module for model calibration with experimental data. The software consists of a collection of Matlab scripts and is provided with a graphical user interface to facilitate input of parameters and output management. In order to get STIR you must register and access the reserved area of the website. You can then access this link to proceed further with your request. The software will automatically be sent to your address as an email attachment. DocumentationSTIR is currently distributed without documentation except for a few notes on how to impose boundary conditions that you can access from the help menu of the graphical user interface. Technical supportIf have any issue with STIR, you can send us an email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . However, we cannot grant any form of technical support. We are sorry about that. RequirementsThe STIR software requires Matlab version 7.6 (2008a) or later. It is not compatible with previous versions of Matlab, and may not be compatible with versions later than 7.9. The modeling closure including the truncated power law model currently included in the package works only on Matlab 32bits on Windows platforms. LicenseSTIR is licensed to you for non commercial use.
